Picks Travel Ltd was founded in 2019 by Ian Pickstock — someone who started out in a Liverpool taxi office, trained as a mechanic and spent years inside the industry before starting his own company. That background meant we knew exactly what needed fixing: poor communication, last-minute let-downs and passengers left unsure whether their driver was even coming.
We launched just before COVID hit. When everything stopped, we used that time to rebuild our systems properly. When travel reopened, we were ready. One of our first drivers was Paul — a friend of 15 years — who is still with us today.
Today we operate with 35+ licensed, DBS-checked drivers across Liverpool, Wirral, Halton, Knowsley and Sefton. Our operator licence is PHO0101, issued by Liverpool City Council, and every vehicle meets council inspection standards. We specialise in pre-booked journeys — airport transfers, corporate travel, cruise transfers and long-distance — where reliability isn't optional.
We follow all national taxi and private hire regulations set by the Department for Transport.
I treat people how I'd want to be treated. I'd never ask a driver to do a job I wouldn't do myself — and if something goes wrong, I want to know so we can fix it.
